Nothing Beats a Classic

Although I grew up in the 80’s, I had an old soul as a mentor. She was a well-aged soul who lived in a house with no running water and no power to it. She plowed her own garden, raised her own food, busted her own wood and drew water from her well by hand every day. She was my modern day “Little House on The Prairie” person, who taught me the benefits of hard work and resilience.

Today all it takes is a quick link on your laptop, and if you’re willing to pay a few bucks more, you can have almost anything you need in any hour or three. From food to furniture, it’s all there for us in a click of a button…but have you noticed the quality over the years decline?

We can buy the latest and greatest microfiber towels and wash cloths, and yet, nothing beats the classics!

Here’s to the classics! Happy Saturday everyone 😊

Many years ago, I was outside playing kickball with the neighborhood kids. My grandmother called me inside and quickly informed me that "Young ladies do not play with boys!". And she sat me down beside her and taught me my first set of crochet stitches. I do not recall my age, exactly, but do remember I was still in my single digits. Today I am very much grateful for her passing this skill down to me. It has saved my life in so many ways. I have used it as physical and emotional therapy more times than I can count...
