I have always loved bright bold colors. Something about them always seems to bring a smile to my face, even on the gloomiest of days. This afghan was inspired by a lady I follow on Facebook. She always has the most amazing color arrangements, and one day..”.when I grow up”…I hope to be even half the creative genius she is!

Many years ago, I was outside playing kickball with the neighborhood kids. My grandmother called me inside and quickly informed me that "Young ladies do not play with boys!". And she sat me down beside her and taught me my first set of crochet stitches. I do not recall my age, exactly, but do remember I was still in my single digits. Today I am very much grateful for her passing this skill down to me. It has saved my life in so many ways. I have used it as physical and emotional therapy more times than I can count...

  1. Beautiful! Learnt to do granny squares last week to use up old knitting yarns. Think I might create a colourful blanket too. Love the edge to yours – will have to learn that when I have enough squares.
