Spark of Hope

Yesterday when I got home from work, I lit the four tea light candles on the bar in my kitchen. In order they read “Love”, “Joy”, “Hope”, and “Peace”.

I noticed on going to bed last night that one candle still burned once all the others had been snuffed out. It was “Hope”. Upon waking this morning, it got me to thinking about how things seem to be heading in the world we presently live in. Many times the other three do, indeed, seem to be snuffed out in this world. But as long as we have Hope, that small flicker of fire is able to ignite all of the other three.

May God bless us with Hope, that our inner flame might ignite the Power He has instilled in every one of us. Wishing Love, Joy, Hope, and Peace to all who read this.

Many years ago, I was outside playing kickball with the neighborhood kids. My grandmother called me inside and quickly informed me that "Young ladies do not play with boys!". And she sat me down beside her and taught me my first set of crochet stitches. I do not recall my age, exactly, but do remember I was still in my single digits. Today I am very much grateful for her passing this skill down to me. It has saved my life in so many ways. I have used it as physical and emotional therapy more times than I can count...
